Background and Values

Founded in 2006 by Craig Taylor and Sean Crowley, CTS Research was initially created to tackle corporate fraud across the U.S.

Craig had recently retired from the NYPD’s Manhattan District Attorney’s Detective Squad and was sought out by corporate executives who had noticed a rise in fraudulent activity in the industry. Craig had several successes in helping to uncover this fraud and bring those responsible to justice. Meanwhile, Sean Crowley had been the commanding officer of Cold Case Homicide for all of New York City, after overseeing complex white-collar cases at the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, where his background in accounting, along with his extensive policing experience, gave him all the necessary skills to specialize in private investigations, fraud, and due diligence. They realized that together they made a formidable pair, and thus CTS Research was born.

Shortly after founding the company, they recruited Jo Ann Ream for her legal experience, her experience at the Prosecutor’s office, and her analytical mind. Craig and Sean wanted to take CTS to the next level and offer a service unmatched by any other company. With her knowledge of the trade and her well-honed communication skills, Jo Ann has elevated CTS operations above the rest.

CTS recruited Daniel Sullivan in 2019 for his knowledge of business development and his extensive experience in corporate due diligence and investigations. With his 20-year police career and now over 20 years in the private industry, he is a leader in his trade. Daniel was previously Managing Director and Global Practice Leader of Aon’s Merger and Acquisition, Corporate Investigations Solutions Group. Prior to working with AON, Daniel was with Kroll NY Office.

The CTS Team has been involved with more than 10,000 fraud cases and has completed more than 20,000 cases across 40+ U.S. states and 20+ countries.
